Mission
Statement
The
Mission of the Simcoe Muskoka Literacy Collaborative is to
promote the understanding of literacy, its importance and
relevance in our communities. We will enable the public to
participate in and enjoy the pleasures of reading to increase
their awareness of local literacy services and expand their
knowledge of literacy as it relates to employment opportunities
in our community .
Collaboration
The Road to Reading Festival/Family Fun Days
was originally developed as a collaborative partnership between
five literacy organizations in the Simcoe/Muskoka region.
The partners include the Midland Area Reading Council, The
Barrie Literacy Council, The Literacy Society of South Muskoka,
The Literacy Council of South Simcoe and the Simcoe/Muskoka
Literacy Network. This year, the Learning Disabilities Association
has joined the collaborative.
